Men’s Divorce, sponsor Cordell & Cordell and sister site DadsDivorce.com have teamed up to present a series of recap videos to keep you informed on the latest news and top stories for each of the websites.
Over the past month, Cordell & Cordell Principal Partner Joe Cordell was interviewed by Men’s Health Magazine regarding male gender discrimination in family courts and how guys are often at a disadvantage during divorce.
Society as a whole has decided many forms of discrimination are unacceptable, but men are left on their own when it comes to navigating an often biased divorce process. This can be particularly detrimental when combined with common decisions that harm their own case.
Dad’s Divorce published a guest piece from Parental Alienation Study Group President William Bernet about the 8 symptoms of parental alienation, which were developed by Dr. Richard Gardner in 1985.
From an absence of guilt to borrowed scenarios, these signs of parental alienation have remained a fairly sturdy indicator of alienation in children over the past several decades.
Men’s Divorce posted a new article detailing how to recognize parental alienation and what fathers can do to fight back in the courtroom — something that is becoming more possible as parental alienation gains greater public awareness.
While parental alienation has been a fairly difficult to grasp phenomenon in the past, it is finally making its way out of the shadows and into the courtroom. Alienated fathers now have the opportunity to seek remedy through the courts, potentially finding their ex in contempt of court or even securing a modification of custody if the alienation is severe enough.
