Question:
Is there any type of restraining order I can get that keeps my children away from my current wife’s male friends?

Answer:
Each state has different laws with regard to who can get a restraining or protective order and what the circumstances must be. For example, in Pennsylvania, you can only get a protection from abuse (PFA) against a relative or someone you had a relationship with. This would exclude your wife’s male friends. The same applies in New Jersey. While I have to advise you consult with an Ohio attorney to see what remedies your state law permits, if the law is like Pennsylvania and New Jersey, you do not have the ability to get a restraining order against wife’s male friends.
With that said, if your wife’s male friends have any issues that raise concern with regard to their fitness to be around the children, this is something you should pursue in the custody realm. You can request the court deal with valid concerns that may negatively impact the children or expose the children to any harm. If the concern is that wife has too many male friends and is not introducing male friends appropriately, this is something you should address with your wife in either co-parenting or family counseling, or you should explore the merit of bringing this issue to court in Ohio.
