Dad’s Divorce posted an answer to an Ask a Lawyer question over where to file for a custody modification after the ex-wife had moved around to several different counties within the state. The simple answer is to file wherever the original decree was issued, as that court will retain jurisdiction until a request is made and approved to move it elsewhere.
Men’s Divorce published a new article regarding financial issues that can arise after a divorce when one party is awarded the home, but both spouses are on the mortgage. Since lenders are not a party to the divorce, they will still hold whoever is on the loan responsible.
