Men’s Divorce, sponsor Cordell & Cordell and sister site DadsDivorce.com have teamed up to present a series of weekly recap videos to keep you informed on the latest news and top stories.

This week, Cordell & Cordell announced the firm has gone international with the opening of an office in London, their first branch outside of the United States.

By opening an office overseas, Cordell & Cordell hopes to continue bringing justice to men and fathers going through divorce by offering representation that focuses on protecting their rights.

Dad’s Divorce published a new article covering shared parenting legislation that is being considered in states across the country.

According to the Wall Street Journal, nearly 20 states have measures in the works to create more balanced custody laws that could lead to more cases of equal custody following divorce. The movement comes on the heels of new research that shows children fair better in shared-parenting arrangements.

Men’s Divorce featured an article about how pets are treated when couples divorce.

Generally speaking, pets are considered property by law. However, the societal status of pets has changed over the decades, and they now unofficially hold a place above the living room set or kitchen appliances. Judges often try to avoid extended litigation by awarding ownership to the spouse who primarily cared of the pet and is better suited to care for the pet moving forward.
