Men’s Divorce, sponsor Cordell & Cordell and sister site DadsDivorce.com have teamed up to present a series of weekly recap videos to keep you informed on the latest news and top stories.

This week, Cordell & Cordell Principal Partner Joe Cordell discussed how flawed decision-making hurts individuals during the divorce process on Phoenix Money Radio’s Business for Breakfast.

Successful people are generally very meticulous in planning out major decisions in their lives, such as careers, education and retirement. However, these individuals often make the decision to divorce without the same analytical insight, which can be problematic.

Dad’s Divorce published a new article covering the rights of parents in deciding their children’s religious upbringing following a divorce.

Correlating with the significant increase in the number of parents awarded joint custody over the past several decades, there has been a rise in the number of disputes regarding who gets to determine a child’s religion. In these situations, there are a number of factors that are used to determine the child’s best interests.

Men’s Divorce posted a new Attorney Bites video giving a general description of how divorced parents determine who gets to claim children on their taxes.

Family law attorney Rebecca DeVincent explained that the parent who has physical custody of the children for more than half of the year typically gets to claim them as dependents. However, there are circumstances where this may not be the case, so consult a local family law attorney if you are unsure to avoid potential complications with the IRS.
